How to coordinate family tasks with siblings
Family coordination gets stressful when responsibility is assumed instead of visible. The aim is not equal work; it is clear work, ownership and next steps.
A simple system that works
1. List the recurring jobs
Include appointments, transport, calls, forms, household jobs, bills and regular check-ins.
2. Name one owner for each job
Two people can help, but one person should know they are responsible for making sure the next step happens.
3. Separate updates from decisions
Use short factual updates for what happened and record important decisions somewhere they can be found later.
4. Keep one shared calendar
Appointments and deadlines should not depend on one sibling copying them into a chat.
5. Agree on a weekly catch-up
A short regular review is usually more useful than a constant stream of scattered messages.
Do not wait for a perfect setup
Start with the next real thing that needs doing. A small current system is more useful than a complete archive nobody can maintain.
